About BridgTheGap

Creativity has always been how people find each other.

BridgTheGap is a nonprofit built around a simple belief: creativity belongs to everyone, and its value reaches far beyond the things we make.

Something in common.

A belief. An opportunity. A place to begin.

01 / What we believe

Creativity belongs to everyone—and it matters far beyond art.

It’s in a painting. It’s also in a different question, another solution, an unexpected combination, or an idea that doesn’t exist yet.

Yes, art.

And far beyond it.

  • storytelling
  • design
  • experimentation
  • new ideas
  • different perspectives

We want people—especially young people—to discover creativity as something they can use in everyday life: to communicate, learn, adapt, and contribute ideas of their own.

02 / The gap behind our name

BridgTheGap.
What gap?

The space between
having creativity
and having somewhere for it to go.

Paints, brushes, paper, and a work in progress spread across a creative table
Materials. Time. Space. Permission to try.

Creativity may belong to everyone. Access to materials, tools, space, instruction, and encouragement is less evenly shared.

School and community opportunities can be limited by time, funding, staffing, transportation, or resources. Sometimes what’s missing is simply a place to make something without worrying about being “good” at it.

Our work starts with access and opportunity.

03 / Putting belief into practice

Start with what
we can make possible.

We’re developing and providing creative programming, educational resources, and community experiences—working with schools, libraries, nonprofits, and other organizations.

What we’re building toward

Room for
unfinished ideas.

Future vision · Not yet an operating space

Our long-term vision is a BridgTheGap Open Arts Studio for youth: a safe, welcoming place to make, spend time, learn, and find community.

Imagine a place with…

Something to try.
Somewhere to stay.
Room to be yourself.

01

Materials within reach.

Shelves of supplies, creative tools, and equipment to discover.

02

A table with room.

Workspaces, creative stations, and projects that can take their time.

03

Your own way in.

Independent exploration, guided learning, workshops, and people making things together.

Not every young person needs to become an artist. Every young person deserves opportunities to discover what they can create.

Where it started

Materials.
Freedom.
Encouragement.

And permission to approach
something in your own way.

The person behind the beginning

Bridgid-Ryan
Milenkovski

Founder, BridgTheGap

The idea grew from seeing firsthand how differently people—particularly young people—can respond when they have creative materials, freedom, encouragement, and permission to approach something in their own way.

For Bridgid-Ryan, those experiences shouldn’t depend entirely on finding the right class, teacher, supplies, or environment by chance.

BridgTheGap is a way to help make those opportunities more available.

Our mission

More ways to begin.

Expand access to creativity through programs, resources, experiences, partnerships, and spaces where people—especially youth—can make, learn, and connect.

Our vision

Creativity with room to grow.

Communities that nurture creativity in everyone, with meaningful access to the tools, spaces, resources, and opportunities young people need to use it.

The next idea could be yours

There is
more to create.

A program for your community. A partnership. Time, skills, or an idea you’d like to share. There’s room to help shape what comes next.

BridgTheGap provides educational and community-based creative programming, not clinical art therapy. The Open Arts Studio is a long-term vision, not a currently operating space.
